Our Junior Road Safety Officers this session are Andrew and Matthew A.
What is a JRSO?
JRSO stands for Junior Road Safety Officer. Primary 6 pupils are appointed or selected for their primary school, usually for a two year period at Ruthvenfield. JRSOs are supported in their schools by an Adult Co-ordinator, in this case Mr Clark the Headteacher.
The JRSOs and all their helpers are a huge help to the Road Safety Officer for the local area, as they help promote road safety issues within the school and local community.
What will our JRSOs do?
Over the year our JRSOs will be working with our Road Safety Officer (RSO) to make everyone in our school more aware of the dangers on the road.
There will be lots of fun things for you to do such as competitions, displays and assemblies. You will have different themes to work on during the year, and we’ll try to keep in contact with what other JRSOs are doing.
